Royal Greys

Royal Greys is a Belgian baseball and softball club from Merksem in the province of Antwerp.

The association plays in its own sports park at the Alkstraat in Merksem, where a baseball and softball field is at its disposal. The association has two men’s teams, two women’s softball teams and several youth teams in the junior, cadet, mini-men, peanut and pupil classes.

The club was founded in 1947 in the Luchtbal district of Antwerp. After several days of training under the leadership of Louis Daggelinckx, the Luchtbal Baseball Club was founded on 8 July 1947. After a few years, the name was changed to Luchtbal Grays Baseball Club to avoid confusion with the General Motors Giants, who also played in Luchtbal, albeit on other fields. In 1997 the club existed 50 years and was allowed to add the title Royal (Royal), the club also moved to the grounds at the Alkstraat in Merksem and changed the name to Royal Greys.
